Human Resources Generalist

Location: Weymouth, MA

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruiting and orientation, policy evaluation and development, legal compliance, benefits administration, and training and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Creates internal and external job posting
  • Ensures all applicant/candidate data is updated and maintained frequently in our ATS system
  • Oversees onboarding process including acquiring background checks and employee eligibility verifications to complete I-9 documentation.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Administers annual performance review process and ensures timely completion of performance evaluations
  • Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, leaves, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions
  • Reconciles monthly benefits statements
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 3 5 years of Human Resources experience
  • 2+ years of Recruiting experience
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
