Job Summary

Menemsha is seeking, motivated individuals to join our practice who possess the core qualities of enthusiasm, strong character, high intellect and strong interpersonal skills.  We have opportunities for Job Captains with 3-5 years of experience in as-built survey and architectural services, primarily responsible for production of existing conditions and as-built survey documentation, as-built survey quality assurance and production of construction documents, quality control of drawings, coordination, and management of multiple fast paced projects all over the nation with different clients.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for production of as-built surveys, architectural design & construction documents of projects using program prototype template(s).
  • Able to assemble drawings with limited oversight.
  • Implement Quality Assurance / Quality Control of as-built surveys, architectural design & construction documents.
  • Creation of client specific drawing templates utilizing AutoCAD or REVIT.
  • Responsible for understanding and implementing project specific design and program requirements.
  • Work in conjunction with Sr. Job Captain and Project Manager to meet scheduled deliverables.
  • Review and respond to City / Planning / State / GC comments.
  • Delegate and distribute tasks to Drafters / Consultants.
  • Basic Code knowledge including egress, accessibility, occupancy, fire separations, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Building Construction & Systems.
  • Ability to conduct building permit due diligence and submittals and obtain building permits including but not limited to planning, zoning, building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, structural, health, design review boards, health department, etc.
  • Ability to coordinate with consultants including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of construction documents and building department expectations related to construction documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal Client/GC/Consultant/Agency communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and manage time and projects.
  • Strong organizational skills, a self-starter and able to handle multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated to meet project deadlines consistently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Strong team building abilities.

Education & Experience

  • Technical Drafting Certification or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture preferred.   
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT & Microsoft office a must.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in As-built Survey / Architectural Services.
  • Previous experience in tenant improvement, commercial projects, and restaurants preferred.
  • Experience with permit expediting and architectural planning preferred.
